Looks interesting. I got the flyer too and have seen them setting up for the last week. I might have to check it out. I'm interested in the honey, too. They have a "honey for sale" out in front of the church sometimes.

I was more than happy with the food served at this festival. All food was reported to be homemade and by appearance and taste, I believe it. I had one of two combo plates (15.00) which included pork pastrami, lamb pastrami, Romanian sausages w/yellow mustard, polenta w/feta and sour cream, cabbage rolls w/a sparse, but tasty tomato sauce, crunchy cole slaw and a rather stale store bought dinner roll.

While I don't get the "pastrami" nomenclature, both were cooked and served as chunky strips of lean and tasty char grilled meats. The cabbage rolls and cole slaw were outstanding. Down the serving line from the entrée items were home made pastries and dessert breads – also very tasty and worth the 3.00 charge per serving.

The meats were cooked on site over open air charcoal grills. The charcoal was provided from a fire pit where 3-4” dia. tree limbs were thrown in to fire out to coals before being added to the grills. Needless to say, if you didn’t come hungry, after a few whiffs of the smoke filled air, you would be before too long.

Food items could be ordered individually, but if you have someone to share a plate with, the combos were served so generously, 2 of us split one order and it served us well as a complete meal. If you can’t make it this year, it’ll definitely be worth a visit next.

There is a 5.00 admission fee

Just received a flyer in the mail concerning this year's Romanian Festival, November 6 - 8. The above OP link has been updated to reflect 2009's agenda. The menu is somewhat hidden but is found under the PROGRAM tab.

I've never been to Romainia, so cannot comment to authenticity, but will say that last year's food was very tasty and well prepared - meats are grilled on site. Considering there was a $5 entry charge, I thought the food (tickets) were a little expensive. BUT, when served, there was plenty for sharing between 2 people (not ravishing appetites).

This is a small festival, therefore festivities are minimal, but on a pleasant afternoon, it's great for better than good, outdoor eats with some Romanian music on the side.
