A Cozy Thanksgiving in Portland?
My boyfriend and I are driving up to Portland (from San Francisco) for Thanksgiving and I am in charge of finding the perfect restaurant for our Thanksgiving dinner. I am hoping to find a friendly, cozy spot -- with great food, of course.
I have never been to Portland so I am turning to the experts for advice. Any recommendations would be great. Thanks!
We did Higgnin's bar a few years ago, it was great. Sat in a booth on the bar side, we just so much prefer the vibe on the bar side. Service was great, food & wine was great. Don't know if they'll still have seating, just give them a call. I've hear great things on Wildwood's dinner too.

The Heathman comes to mind. Among the best food in town. They're sure to be open, being a deluxe hotel, and the chef specializes in autumn recipes.

Higgins and Heathman are great. However, if you are looking for a thanksgiving dinner, you should go to one of the oldest restaurants in portland (1879) Hubers. It specializes in roasted turkey dinners in all forms, and spanish coffee. Being a turkey restaurant, you might need a reservation. See them at www.hubers.com

Cozy and Hubers does not go together. While I think Hubers would be good, Higgins is definitely more cozy,(and would probably be my first choice) and the Heathman can be depending on where you dine. Hubers is way too loud for me sometimes. The front dining room is a little more quiet but the ambience is blah. And, although I have not had Thanksgiving here, you may want to check into Gracies in Hotel Deluxe. It has a great atmosphere and good food and just something a little different.
