Best Pizza in Long Branch

This has been a never ending discussion that has practically split my family into factions....Some people swear by Nunzios, some love Tony' mother pines for the old days at Freddie's, I love the Margharita pizza at La Scala's in West End...I'd love to hear other people's opinions or maybe some other hidden gem...

Papas in Trenton (Chambersburg) is the ONLY place I go to have Tomatoe Pies period!

I lived in Long Branch for 10 years and never heard of the Trenton section.

Its worth the short drive for the best ! long branch is not the mecca for Pizza for sure. But I'll admit I love Joanne's in long branch for Super Italian sanwiches.

I have been going to Ocean View Subs for over 20 years and Joanne has been there the entire time. She remembers every name and every face. If you want real Italian Subs this is the only place to go....they could have filmed a episode of the Sopranos at her place...I love Joanne and her #3 Italian Sub

It dont get any better then Joannes shes like everyone's mother.....just look at the pictures on the walls thru the years its such a nostalgic place just like papas. You cant argue with success & great food.

                  1. re: Tapas52

Yes ,but how is Joannes Pizza ?This thread is not about Trenton or subs is it?

                    1. re: xny556cip

no to your point xny Ocean View Subs does not make Pizza.

                      1. re: stack_c

Oddly though, the side door of Ocean View Bakery is labeled Ocean View Pizza.

Just went after reading the above posts. The atmosphere of a coffee shop/deli of yesteryear with regulars who serve themselves and help Joanne. The #1 Italian sub was mouth-watering good. We'll be back to sample more of the menu, which didn't include pizza.

Funny, I went this week as well for the first time. Joanne looked up at me and said "you're first time here,eh" Good stuff, nice sandwich if sliced a little thick for my liking, but I'll definitely go back...want to try her soups.

                          1. re: fershore

Next time try the chicken parm or whatever hot SPECIAL she made that day.....Joanne is the best!

Glad you enjoyed it....brings you back for sure.

        2. Rockfeller's on prospect makes a GREAT slice of Sicilian, but the price is different EVERYTIME YOU GO.
