The Best Steak Frites

A quick and simple question.

Where do you think the absolute best steak frites in the city is? I need to know for a dinner with a friend later this week and it's part of a running joke.

And it has to be about more than JUST the steak -- the frites count too. After all it's called steak FRITES.

as i am kind of a regular i'll throw this one out --- for many years BRUXELLES in the village has had a hangar steak special on tuesdays. all the mains there come with a side of belgian frites. pair that with a belgian beer -- hard to top that!

i enjoy getting this at LUCIEN and FLEA MARKET too once in awhile. no, they're not the best, but they are a fairly inexpensive version.

The french fries at Bruxelles are out of this world. My husband and a friend once ate seven servings of them. That said, I do prefer the moules there to the meat. When we lived in Miami, we used to take a pretty late flight into NYC on Fridays, and would call and beg from the taxi to ask them to stay open for us. It's still a favorite of ours.

I'm a fan of Artisinal, but Marseille's are also quite delish.

I like Artisanal's version as well. Haven't sampled widely enough to say if it's the best.
