Four Seasons Hotel Boston

Hi All,

NY chowhounder staying @ 4 Seasons Boston. I have a really good expense account and was wondering if my friends to the north might recommend the best places to eat within walking distance of the hotel. I eat everything and will be in a group of 6.

Via Matta has excellent Italian and is right on the same block as your hotel.

Locke Ober. Your group of six will be happy--order the lobster Savannah, clams casino and JFK's lobster stew. Tournedos Rossini also excellent.

Both Troquet and Pigalle are a block away from the Four Seasons.

I've been very pleased with every meal I've had at the Four Seasons. Aujourd'hui is excellent, as is the Bristol Lounge for breakfast, lunch, tea and drinks. Walking across Boston common to No 9 Park can be less than fun when it's this cold, but definitely worth it.

If you're willing to take a brisk 20-minute walk, you should also consider Radius or O Ya.

You haven't said what you like to eat. There are all sorts of choices if you are on an expense account in Boston.

Depends, for one thing, on what you consider "walking distance." If money's truly no object and dinner's the meal in question, consider Aujourd'hui (the place at your hotel), No. 9 Park (at the other end of Boston Common from your hotel, several blocks walk), L'Espalier (about 5 blocks down Boylston St), or Clio (about 2 blocks further).

Reservations and proper dress advised at all these.

Those 4 recommendations are the only 4 places you need to consider. I'd take my expense account to any of them and you won't be disappointed for sure.
