I don't know but I'd love any recommendations people may have. I haven't had a sopapilla outside the Southwest.

I grew up in New Mexico and love sopapillas. I haven't really seen them in NYC after a search a few months ago, I found this place... : http://www.yelp.com/biz/los-dos-molin...
I haven't been, but let us know if you go and how they are. The food looks non-spectacular, and a bit expensive, but they have some new mexican things I miss.

oh, is that what they're called? they used to serve something similar at the conde nast cafeteria. not everyday, but often. you just need a friendly connection to get in. unfortunately, that's not me, anymore.

i resorted to making my own...a little labor intensive, but pretty darn good. never made it to los dos molinos. thanks for the suggestions.

You could try Elora's in Windsor Terrace if you want to go to Brooklyn. They make an incredible sopapilla dessert with ice cream and honey. Give them a call first since I haven't been there in awhile and their menu may have changed.
