Turkey Fries

Do any of you know where to buy frozen Turkey Fries in the SF Bay Area? I have bought them in the past in the Central Valley but can't find them here. Thank You.

  1. Try calling Willie Bird Turkeys up in Santa Rosa, they might be able to set some aside for you.

AKA Rocky Mountain Oysters. The punch line to remember: "Senor, the bull does not always lose."

As a former bullfighter, I think that is a terrible joke. It's just not funny. By the way, what is a turkey dealer doing selling "cojones de la torreo"?

Turkeys have 'balls' big enough to eat!!! Are they external?

Gleaned from a turkey testicle festival site.
"If you're wondering why you've never seen a turkey's testicles, it's because they are internal and located, generally, under the wing.

The testicles are about 2 to 3 inches long and kidney shaped. Festival cooks serve them beer-battered and fried."

Thank you Wolfe...this site is an unending source of "useful" information!!!

                  ....a Turkey Testicle Festival(!!!) amazing!

                  Can't wait to try some....

Incanto has duck fries on the menu sometimes. They've been discussed on chowhound a fair amount, but with the prevalence of duck fat-fried potato pieces, they fly under the radar.

                    I highly recommend Incanto's.

    2. San Pablo Poultry in Berkeley, maybe? They've got a fairly
extensive collection of obscure avian product. Mostly frozen.

Sorry to report that I heard SPP is now closed/out of business.

Yep. Went by there last night and the windows were empty and the building for sale.

      2. Did you ever find somewhere to buy turkey testicles? I would like to serve them at a dinner I am having but I can not find anywhere in the Bay Area to buy a small quantity.

Fogcitykid did not report back on Willie Bird. Try calling this major turkey supplier.
