Willamette Valley Thanksgiving

  • 2

Hello,
I am planning my first trip to Portland over Thanksgiving week and am hoping to get down to some wineries. I see that the Wilamette Valley has some special events from Friday-Sunday but does anybody know if any/most of the wineries are open the Wednesday before Thanksgiving?

Also, if you have any suggestions of which wineries to visit (I prefer Reds and don't know a whole lot about wine so something not too snooty would be appreciated), that would be great too.

  1. The official event in Friday, Saturday, and Sunday only. Here is a list of the participating wineries: http://www.willamettewines.com/thanks...

I'm not a wine drinker, but my husband likes Carlton Winemakers Studio: http://www.winemakersstudio.com/thest...
It's open every day (not just for Thanksgiving) and since there are several winemakers there you get a variety with just one stop.

    1. Our most recent favorite is Van Duzer, West of Salem. We were there Memorial Day-they had amazingly good (free!) food, spectacular views, were low key, and their pinot noir was fabulous.
