Villa Creek - Paso Robles

Wanted to write a quick post on another very good meal at Villa Creek in Paso Robles. My boyfriend and I were in Paso for the Harvest Weekend and had dinner at Villa Creek. We had eaten a light meal at Villa Creek on a previous visit to Paso a few years back - we had a very enjoyable experience - and also had the pleasure of the chef's fantastic cooking at a pig roast at Tablas Creek over the summer. For dinner this time, my boyfriend had the Rancho Cassoulet and I had the Butternut Squash Enchiladas. The food was well prepared, with each element distinctly "taste-able" and cooked just right, while at the same time marrying all of the flavors. The sommelier was friendly and knowledgeable - he suggested a Zaca Mesa grenache which was just *excellent* with our meal, and we enjoyed talking with him from time to time throughout our dinner.

I have heard that Villa Creek has been growing in popularity as more people have learned/discovered Paso - I hope they keep up the good work, cooking, and service, and look forward to my next visit.

  1. Glad to here it was a great experience for you. I love the place but it can be a bit uneven at times and I am terribly disappointed when I steer someone there and they have a bad time.

When it is on, it is one of the best experiences around. Can't beat the wine selections and prices. I can always dig out a good deal on that list. I can't say the same for a lot of places.

I just found out they have a blog and it has a lot of recipes from the restaurant. If you are a fan, you should check it out.

    1. I've been to Villa Creek 4-5 times and have never been anything but completely satisfied. Great, warm, comfortible venue. The staff is attentive and knowledgable. The Villa Creek wine is among my favorite and the menu is constantly changing with new, farm fresh and sustainable items. I'm a meat eatter and my wife is a recent vegetarian - we were both raving about Villa Creek after our last visit between Christmas and New Yearsas there were choices for both of us.

They had a cabbage and chorizo appetiser a few visits ago that was amazing ... We've had Chicken, Fish, Beef and salad ... all great, all the time.

If you go to Paso and you miss Villa Creek, you're missing the pick of the litter ...
