Real Philly cheesesteaks in Gaithersburg

South Street Steaks which opened maybe a month ago in Gaithersburg is serving up really good Philly-style cheesesteaks and also good hoagies. It's located at the corner of Quince Orchard Road and Darnestown Rd (Rte 28) where Johnson's nursery used to be.

Second this. I have been twice and while they are still ironing out some service issues the cheesesteaks are great and the Italian hoagie is one of the best I have had. The Amoroso rolls hold up well and really make both sandwiches that much better.

They have whiz, American or provolone and both banana and cherry peppers.

Yes, I'm curious about the cheese-whiz. Not "real Philly" without. And do they put the whiz on the bread or on the meat? Makes a real difference! :)
