  1. any word on why? i was just there for the nordeast pumpkin grab and got a nifty poster with my pumpkin (but, alas, didnt buy anything).

it may be selfish to think of, but they didnt even have an inventory clearance sale?

I thought their goods were pricey which doesn't bode well in this economy. I also think they didn't have the name recognition that Kitchen Window or Cooks on Crocus Hill had either.

asked around-- from what i understand, the building the store was located in recently changed hands-- to a corporate landlord-- & the rent was tripled, effectively evicting them. i think it's too bad, as the store was truly independent. i agree the closing was very sudden, & have no info about whether the owner plans to reopen another store.

      2. We went to two cooking events there and it was quite fun.

However, I had gone in on 3 occasions to buy a mandolin...the first two times they did not have one, the 3rd time they had one that was $72. I wanted to be more supportive, but they had a $24 mandolin @ United Noodles that is the best I've ever used.

My wife and I were also surprised that they did not liquidate and appeared to close in a day. Perhaps they will look to reopen elsewhere?
