merge 3: affordable, toddler, foodie (Spain)
OK, 3-4 days in Barcelona and about 5 days in Madrid. We have a super fun-loving and extremely active 21 month old with us. I'm not going to lie and say she's well-behaved, because, well, it would be a lie. But she is active happy, not active scream and cry and yell. She'll stay in her high chair if we keep her occupied.
We'd like local (Catalan and Castilian) food respectively, we like hearty food, we like affordable (not necessarily cheap). Soups, stews, etc sound good, especially as it looks like it will be chilly.
We'll be staying in the Barri Gotic in Barcelona and probably right in center Madrid and we won't have a car.
What kinds of regional and local foods should we be looking for? And can anyone recommend a few restaurants that will tolerate a child? Do tapas places allow children?
I've reviewed a number of the Barcelona threads (and a few of the Madrid threads) but don't see much that's kid-specific.
