hot chocolate european style

i miss the hot chocolate you get in europe - thick with real taste of cocoa beans. is there a placeto find it in NY?

  1. The only one at the top of my head is a decadent thick cup from La Maison du Chocolat. I'm seriously thinking of having my hands wrapped on it again.

      Ditto. Theirs *actually* comes from Europe. It's flown in from Paris, surprisingly. They simply reheat it.

      I would also try Michel Cluizel. There is also MarieBelle but I think the other options are better.

      I assume you are looking for hot chocolate made with water and NOT milk, since that is what I understand European style to be.

    2. Besides La Maison du Chocolat, City Bakery and Jacques Torres.

      1. Try the Chocolate Bar in Bendels. They grind the cocoa beans fresh.
