(Cheap) Intern Dinner

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for a restaurant to hold an intern dinner on December 12 (a Friday). There will be 11 of us (maximum), and we're looking to go somewhere cheap (we're all unpaid interns). Ideally, $8-15 (without drinks) per person, which I realize is really low for Manhattan standards.

As far as cuisines go, we're not picky. We work on 8th & 50th, but are willing to travel (so long as we stay in Manhattan).

Thanks so much in advance!

Blockhead's if you call ahead for the head count and you all want Mexican, and it's right in your nabe.

As a broke college student, I'm going to suggest Cafetasia, on 8th street between Broadway and University. It isn't the most stellar Thai food in Manhattan, although it's fairly decent, but the atmosphere is fun, they have big tables (although I'd call ahead if you're bringing 11) and best of all, it's exactly in your price range.

Try El Centro on 9th ave around 53rd street. Most everything is under $15 and its pretty big portions. It's also very fun and if you call ahead you can probably get a table for 11.

Pam Real Thai is really good and cheap in that area.
