Hudson Street Stackhouse and bar food

Has anyone been? Did they start serving food yet?

Also, FYI to anyone who frequents Mahaffey's nearby, they are going to be starting a food and beer pairing dinner night on Thursday evenings. The idea is they'll have special entrees paired with the current beers for a single price. The food at Mahaffey's is surprisingly good considering the equpiment that the chef has to work with, and I'm interested to see what they do with this.

Food has started to be served, but it's nothing special. I went there with a few of my friends on a FRIDAY NIGHT and was asked by the bartender to keep our voices down. I do admit that we were laughing and probably talking a little loud. But nobody was belligerent or out of control. Plus it was a friday night. This is a BAR, not a library or a nursing home. It's a nice place but don't dare raise your voice so that other groups may hear you lest you get the staff scolding you. Just go to Mahaffey's. Say hi to Wayne, drink good beer and talk at a level acceptable to a normal bar.

it's certainly weird to have a bartender tell people to keep their voices down, but with all the concrete and metal in the Stackhouse, it is always ear-splittingly loud in there... so i kind of sympathize with her.

I was there that night, and you were only asked to keep your voices down after 2 tables left BECAUSE of how loud and piercing your voices were. Other than that I think they gladly welcome boisterous groups as long as they are respectable to the people around them.
