Help, all my posts seem to be double-spaced?
I didn't change any settings that I'm aware of... and I'm not sure how to fix this.
Any help is greatly appreciated!
Thanks.

Ancient chowhound bug that they're never seeming to be getting around to fixing.
Hit you browser's "refresh" button once or twice. The post will then be single spaced.
No one else sees your post that way but you. But everyone sees their own that way.

Hrmm. I don't remember this one. I've never seen my own posts double-spaced, so it's probably browser/set-up specific somewhere along the line.
The reason there tends to be these formatting glitches that are only visible on your own new posts is because when you initially post a new post and it's displayed to you, it's not "real". Unlike all the other posts on the page that were pulled from the database when you loaded the page and formatted according to the standard page style, the post you just made was basically "faked" for you. It'll appear in the right place and with the right words, but it's just generated in place by the posting script. When you reload the page, it's being pulled and formatted properly with all the other posts so should appear normal.
The most common formatting thing with this that people are seeing right now is that the text in their own posts is in a larger text size until they reload the page.

Could've sworn I'd mentioned it before, but you're right, I can't find it.
Anyways, the four intermittent post redisplay bugs have been:
1. It looks double-spaced until refresh.
2. It looks real big until refresh.
3. It's in either a much darker or lighter text color until refresh.
4. After an edit, both the pre- and post-edited versions of the
post remain on the page until a refresh.
Any or all of them can happen. For me on a mac, 1 and 4 are
standard, 2 and 3 just occasional treats.
