Lard -- Vancouver

I have asked around recently at a few grocers and butchers (in Richmond) and have not been able to locate lard.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

They actually give away tubs of lard to customers for FREE with your sausage or meat order at the International Sausage House - 1846 Gilmore Ave, Burnaby :)

They sell it in, like, old mayo jars at Continental Sausage, 3585 Main.
It's in the fridge at the back, unlabeled.
I think they render it themselves.
      They sell Hurka there too!

        Hi There!
Did you ever locate the Lard you were asking for?

You can find lard at Killarney market in the area close to the place where they sell butter. It is very very good clean and tasty lard. You can find Killarney market on the corner of East 49th ave and Elliott Street, in Vancouver. This little Market in a small mall is a foodie paradise. It carries food from International markets around the world. Have fun!

You can get good unhydrogenated organic lard at Oyama on Granville Island.

Killarney Market rocks! They sell lard for the Latin American clientel. Ask for "Manteca",

I love Killarney Market. It is on my regular rotation these days (despite the distance from my place).

I bought my current place based on its proximity to Killarney Market!

Try El Sureno on Commercial Dr. (or any other Latin American grocers). Have you tried T&T and other Asian places?

Thanks! Commercial drive is a great suggestion -- can't believe it didn't occur to me.

I haven't tried T&T yet. I have see pork fat there but not rendered lard (granted I wasn't looking for it at the time). Worse case I could put in the effort and do that myself I guess.

              Thanks again.
