After yesterday's wonderful and bountiful ChowFiesta I didn't think I'd ever be hungry again; but we had planned a family brunch at Luna Park at Wilshire & La Brea for Sunday. This is a find, folks. I don't understand why there weren't lines of people waiting outside just for the French Toast. This was absolutely the BEST French Toast I have ever tasted! Thick egg bread slices, with that ulra-thin, crispy fried outside, giving way to a custardy inside - perfection - topped with fresh strawberries and a whipped mascarpone cream - a very light and smooth topping. Served with real maple syrup. My son ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich - fried to the same perfection as the french toast, and stuffed with ham, turkey, and gruyere cheese. And the french fries!!! Thin, fresh, piping hot, wonderfully seasoned. I can't wait to go back for another try. The space is large and inviting, and the bar looked very well stocked (didn't check out the wine list, but I wouldn't know what I was looking at anyway). There are about four curtained booths at the back which would be nice for intimate dinners. Prices are very reasonable at this casual cafe. Service was terrific and friendly. Thumbs way up!

Yeah, fun place. The kids LOVE the s'mores for dessert. I like the salads and the mojito, myself. BTW, I have been using opentable.com to make reservations there and rack up points towards free $ coupon.
