Recommendations for Thanksgiving Dinner
Looking for good recommendations for traditional turkey dinner. We'll be staying in Times Square area - 2 adults and 2 older teens. Someone had recommended "21" but it is closed for Thanksgiving. Any other tried and tested recommendations for tourists that weekend? Thanks.
We were at Perilla last night and they said they are serving Thanksgiving dinner this year. According to the website it looks like there are traditional and non traditional options. http://www.perillanyc.com/index.php?p... . It looks delicious -- I wish we were going to be in town for it!

ellenost,
Last year was the first time EMP was open for Thanksgiving. We went with our daughter and her then fiance now husband and had a sensational meal. We wanted to do it again this year but can't because of other family obligations. I have no doubt you will have a grand time.

Cibo (@41st & 2nd Ave.) is doing T. Dinner (traditional & other choices) for $55. pp. from noon to 9pm. Check the menu at: http://cibonyc.com/page/o17o/Holiday_Menus_Weekend_Party_Packages.html
I've been there for holiday meals a couple of times with friends and we've always enjoyed the experience at what we've felt was a good value. Pleasant room - nice (U.N.) neighborhood clientele. May end up there this year again. You can grab the 42nd St. bus (or the #104) heading east to get there from Times Square. Nice weather, it's a nice walk.
La Mangeoire has a prix fixe (traditional & non) for $37.pp. They're at 2nd Ave @ 53rd St. www.lamangeoire.com. And it looks like Marseille (9th Ave. @ 44th St.) will be open for Thanksgiving too. Their menu isn't posted, but you can give them a call. We did Christmas there a couple of years ago - also a good value and a nice afternoon.
Of course, all of the hotel dining rooms are open, but you might enjoy a place where the locals go. There are much more expensive options than the ones I've listed, but our little group has a couple of people on tightish budgets, so we try to get out for under $100. pp. including wine & tax & tip. Of these 3, I'd put Cibo first, then Marseille, then Mangeoire.
