PBS New England foodie show
Hi all,
Don't know if any of you have tuned into WGBY's (Springfield, MA) show called "On the Menu" which this season is "going green" which is basically guest chefs from area restaurants using only local produce. And talking about why this is a great idea. Yes, it is low budget cooking t.v., but I really enjoy hearing the names of farms I know, and towns I visit (and live in -- they went to Brattleboro). It's only a half hour, and you can learn stuff. I think they do a nice job. Perhaps not fancy enough for a very experienced foodie, but if only to learn about the occasional new food source I think worth the time. And boy it is great to know that more and more people will see this show and support great food!

Speaking for WGBY, "On The Menu" is currently on Thursday nights at 7:30pm and Saturdays at 10:30am on WGBY which is Channel 57. We also carry repeats on WGBY Create, which is one of our digital channels (57.4) and is also available on cable systems in western Massachusetts. Our coverage area is from Brattleboro VT down to North Haven CT and fhe four counties of western Massachusetts from west of Worcester to the New York border. I'm not sure what the problem was for Bri, but we do have lots of info, including, clips, podcasts, video streams and recipes on our web site at http://www.wgby.org/localprograms/onthemenu/
Links to complete episodes are at: http://www.publicbroadcasting.net/wgb...
Feel free to contact us at WGBY with questions. 800-781-9429 or feedback@wgby.org -
What channel and times? Or, there's probably a web site. I'll have to check it out.
So they're going into VT as well? I'd like to see that...

I always thought that WGBY was based out of Boston, not Springfield, but I did find a website - just coudn't get it to load.

re: Bri
Hi all,
WGBY is indeed out of Springfield. Unfortunately it looks like the short run of 'On the Menu' is about to end, but there is an episode scheduled for Thursday, November 6, 7:30 PM.
Like I said, it's kinda low budget, but it's also kinda nice.
(edit) for some reason this type came out huge! Sorry, not trying to shout, just caught by the computer genies...
