Looking for a restaurant in San Pedro

Neta Oct 26, 2008 10:11 AM

We want to meet our son for dinner after he gets off a fishing boat at 5:00 P.M tomorrow. He's coming into the 22nd Street landing but the restaurant by the same name is closed on Monday. I've pulled up a list of restaurants in the area but I can't even begin to guess. We want a nice place close by the landing. He has to get the freeway back to San Diego and get up early the next day. Anyone have any suggetions? I've checked out the Papdakis site and that's a possiblity but would like more options. Thank you for any help.

You won't go wrong with Papadakis. I've been eating there for at least 15-20 years because my brother lived close by at one time. I rarely go for a visit that I don't want to have some of the delicious Greek food and wonderful hospitality.

Just about the best Greek restaurant in LA County, definitely the best in the area.

Here is a post I saved from a Dommy recomendation. Hey where has Dommy been lately?
Enrique's for creative and delicious Mexican food. The pork shank is not to be missed along with other great dishes like their Pasillas asados consisting of two flame-roasted peppers stuffed with diced potatoes and Jack and blue cheeses. Their chips and salsa is also a superior version. Very casual, comfortable and hole in the wallish, just the way I like my Mexican places.

Not in San Pedro near 22nd St. Landing.

For Italian, Neil's, assuming he's going to clean up after fishing (it's sort of fancy).

Whale and Ale would be okay for more casual.

I agree, Neil's or Raffaello for Italian

The Ports O'Call Restaurant is open Monday's.

The Whale and Ale, more casual, is located on 7th Street in San Pedro. It has everything from Fish and Chips to Prime Rib.

            Both on way to freeway.

Yep, Whale and Ale gets my vote too -- pretty casual but a good selection of British fare and a decent beer selection to boot.
