Afternoon/High Tea in Portland?

I would like to treat a friend to a proper, English-style high tea with scones, crumpets, clotted cream, cucumber sandwiches, etc., but ever since the British Tea Garden in downtown Portland closed a few years back, I'm not sure where to go anymore.

Any recommendations? Otherwise, we might have to hoof it up to the Empress Hotel in Victoria BC...!

Thanks in advance.

  1. "English-style high tea" is the English workingman's supper served at 5 pm consisting of cold fish or meat, cakes, sausage, and beer. It is their main evening meal.
I guess you mean "Low Tea". You can find that at the Heathman Hotel.

    2. In the Portland area there is:

Heathman Hotel (downtown Portland, it's up to $28.50): http://www.heathmanrestaurantandbar.c...

Myrtle's Tea House and Herbery (in Ridgefield, WA): http://www.myrtlesteahouse.com/

Lavender Tea House (in Sherwood, OR): http://www.lavenderteahouse.com/

        Thanks, JillO. Appreciate the help.

Looks like Lavender Tea House is currently closed for renovations, but the other two will work!
