Kemah - What's open?

I know that many restaurants took a big hit due to Hurricane Ike.

Is there anything that has reopened to enjoy a meal and some nice sunshine?

The weather looks great in the near future.

  1. I am no fan of the Kemah Boardwalk, but regret the fact that many people are out of work. Having said this, I remember the days when there were many places to choose from, none of which was owned by a corporate entity, when you could grab a beer, eat some crabs, or go more upscale at Jimmie Walkers or The Flying Dutchman. Joe Lee's was on the water once, it is nearby, but I am not sure if it is open now. What is open is The Monument Inn on the ship channel. There is no outdoor dining, but get a table by the window for a pleasant view and some good food. The Lynchburg Ferry is still closed.

I don't know Joe Lee's. Can you tell me more?

Joe Lee's is a casual family run place, I haven't been since it was on the boardwalk years ago, but it was good, gulf coast seafood simply prepared, maybe Cookie Baker can help us out.

Still a great family restaurant . Nice atmosphere and good, gulf coast simply prepared seafood.

    1. As far as the boardwalk is concerned, I know they have opened a couple of the restaurants, but not sure which ones. You are really going to have to dig around to find out if the place you want to go to still exists, or if it's open. Kind of iffy around those parts. Shoot, it's even iffy here in Houston.

      1. At the Boardwalk three restaurants are currently open; Chart House, Salt Grass and Babin's. A local fovorite T-Bone Tom's is still closed but expected to open in November.
