Henderson Rec please
upscale in henderson ? hmmmm
on the eastern ave corridor you've got steele's, white chocolate grill, la golosita, pin kaow. My first visit to Steele's - great, 2nd visit - average. hip looking place. just off eastern, vox wine lounge and Re: tapas. I liked re:tapas and decent drinks.
Is todd's Unique in Henderson ? i think it might be - very good upscale food decent prices.
near the District / gvr - most of the places are family orientated - lucille's, elephant bar, king's fish ( my fav ) etc. at GVR - Hank's steakhouse.
Todd's Unique in Henderson is excellent; we recently did a birthday dinner there. Wednesday is free corkage if you can swing a Wednesday celebration.
I had the Sea Bass which was delicious with the artichokes. I was not sure ordering it, but it was fantastic. My husband had a steak which he claimed was very good. Others at the table had seafood, meat or one of the daily special options which got rave reviews. Bites of all went around the table as we had to prove to each other that we had made the best menu choice! Appetizers were very good also.
The servers were knowledgeable and attentive.

Another vote for Todd's. On our most recent visit we started off with a watermelon salad that included pepitas, cayenne, lime juice and feta cheese. An amazing combination of flavors. We both ordered the fresh Teriyaki halibut that is served over coconut rice and bok choy with fingerling potatoes, baby carrots and sugar peas.
Gaetano's is on Eastern Avenue and serves the best Northern Italian in the area. Everything we have tried on the menu is fantastic and service is excellent. We have tended toward ordering the house made filled pastas. On our recent visit we shared the evening’s special salad - arugula and fennel in a blood orange and lemon dressing. My wife's entrée was mezzelune di Vitello con Porcini - homemade half moon pasta filled with veal and served with peas, prosciutto and porcini mushrooms in a light cream sauce. I chose the evening’s special pasta – homemade wild mushroom ravioli in a mascarpone cream sauce. All three dishes were outstanding.

A new restaurant we discovered recently is Vox Wine Lounge. The restaurant section is very upscale and there is an intimate lounge area where you can share a glass of wine or martini before dinner. The chef’s pedigree is impressive having most recently served as the executive sous chef at San Francisco’s Aqua. Both he and the pastry chef have experience working at the Bouchon restaurant in Napa Valley so we had high expectations and were not disappointed. My wife ordered the seared ahi tuna over garlic noodles with red cabbage and carrots. My entrée proved to be be even better – miso glazed black cod with bok choy and wasabi pommes puree. We also shared a rather pedestrian dish of steamed rapini. The highlight of the evening for my wife was dessert - a hazelnut chocolate mousse with shortbread and hazelnut crème.
