Column jankiness in Firefox

The right hand column bumps itself to below the end of the left hand column, while still on the right side. The page is twice as long as it's supposed to be. This makes reading Chow and using Chowhound irritating and I've gone from a multiple times a day habit to a couple times a week habit. I'm not switching to IE...although the glitch goes away if I use it.
Do you have any extensions installed? I had a similar situation, and discovered that one of them (AdBlocker Plus in my case) was the culprit.
Go to Tools \ Add ons \ Extensions then disable one at a time. You may have to close Firefox, then restart it for changes to take effect.
If you're not having the adblock-induced problems, you're probably
looking at a result of the Really Broken Layout Bug that was introduced
about 3 days before the end of their beta test and never corrected.
Couple of reports here:
They don't seem to have fixing it (or even working out what
the underlying issue is) as a high priority. You could try making
your font bigger, sometimes that helps. That's obviously not a
good solution, but it could help in the meanwhile.
I've learned to like it this way, though. All the crap gets pushed down
out of the way were I don't have to look at it. If chowhound advertisers
don't care that I can't see their ads, why should I .. :)
