Whipping regular milk

I loooooove fresh whipped cream. But, since I am capable of eating the entire batch before it makes it to the table, I was hoping for a lower fat alternative. Does anyone have a way of whipping regular or lowfat milk? Can I add gelatin or something, or does it change the texture too much?

    Adding nonfat dry milk powder to nonfat cottage cheese makes a surprisingly good substitute for heavy cream, and it can be whipped. I posted about it here


    and a few people tried it and added comments about their experiences with it.
