Best desserts

I would love to find the best bakery in town for desserts (hopefully in the Hollywood, West Hollywood, Studio City area). Mainly looking for excellent cakes, pies, pasteries and/or small desserts to serve at an upcoming house party. Not looking to spend a fortune but still would like something utterly delicious. Thanks!

Sweet Lady Jane in West Hollywood is a popular if not staid choice. Their triple-berry cake is great and I think it's frosted with whipped cream instead of a typical cake frosting, which keeps it light. Boule on La Cienega has extravagant pastries at extravagant prices, but they are worth it when you feel like a splurge.

I was introduced to Big Sugar Bake Shop in Studio City not too long ago. The desserts (brownies, blondies, etc.) were fabulous! It's a way cute shop, and they also do cakes, tarts, and pies to order.

In L.A. but near Hollywood the best is Susina Bakery & Cafe.
In Sherman Oaks, not far from Studio City the best is Nata's Pastries.
Both of these bakeries are excellent and my suggestion is to explore both!
