Anyone know where I can find this in Seattle?
You can make your own?!
2 parts POM pomegranate juice1 part sugar
Heat the POM and the sugar in a saucepan until boiling. Turn the heat down and let the mixture simmer gently for 5-10 minutes. Cool and store in the refridgerator.
You can get pomegranate molasses at Met Market or any of the Central Market chain.
We found some at The Souk in Pike Place Market.
We've also made our own, just with boiled-down pomegranate juice, no sugar.
I've seen it at various Middle eastern shops, usually from Lebanon. Also at stores that cater to a mixed ethnicity (e.g. Star Produce in Lynnwood). My latest purchase was a bottle of Cortas brand pomgranate molasses.
Sonoma Syrup Co. makes it....Check online where to buy it in Seattle.
as an alternative you could try Pama pomegranate liqueur from e.g. liquor store 101 (1702 South 4th)
Big John's PFI.
Pacific Market in Lake city. Its a perisan market.
Thanks for all of the replies. In the end, I opted to roll my own. (thanks fullbelly). The fesenjaan turned out pretty good!
Isn't that the same thing as grenadine? You can get that at any grocery store.
I vaguely remember from an earlier discussion that the grenadine syrup intended for drinks might no longer be the real thing. It would be wise to check the ingredients.
PFI (Pacific Food Importers) on 6th, a little south of the International District.
