Desserts and cocktails around SFMOMA

Hi everybody,

I will be visiting SF MOMA with a friend next weekend. I'm looking for fun places to have cocktails and places with decadent desserts to go to afterwards. I'm willing to walk up to 2 miles. The ideal thing would be to point me to the right neighborhood with lots of choices. Fun = good people watching, inventive drinks, perhaps loungey but not too snooty and not too divey, friendly staff. For desserts, I like super decadent over the top kinds.

The vacherin dessert at Coco500 is worth the walk (10 minutes from the SFMOMA). It's described as follows: vacherin, swiss meringue, creme anglaise, chocolate sauce, coffee gelato, almonds. The cocktails at CoCo500 are good too.

I've always wanted to try the desserts at Farallon, so maybe someone can chime in on whether they're worth it.

Otherwise, Tartine in the Mission for desserts is worth a bus ride (14 Mission bus) from the SFMOMA. It would be a 3 mile + walk, I estimate.

For cocktails I'd go to Bourbon & Branch. As annoying as their reservation policy is, their drinks are among the best I have tried in SF. I was there on a Tuesday a few weeks ago and can't wait to go back. It's about a mile from the SFMOMA, but be mindful that there are a few blocks near the bar that are not so nice.

    2. Very near SFMOMA is TWO on Hawthorne Lane and it has a fun bar with good drinks, and I love their cupcake desserts.
