Chicago couple looking for good meal/live music Fri night in B-more

Hi my husband and I will be in the area election week and will have a chance to use the company credit card for a great meal on Friday night. We probably shouldn't max it, but anything in the $20-30 entree range is fine. I love wine, he loves whiskey and we both like unique meals with fresh (local if possible) ingredients. We are staying between Fed Hill and Inner Harbor (Intercontinental Harbor Court) and would prefer to be a reasonable cab ride or walk from our hotel.

Afterward, we'd like to hit the town a bit. We are into music, just not heavy metal or hard rock. Any suggestions for bars w/ live music and a great dinner spot nearby?

THANKS B-MORE CHOWHOUNDERS!

Not at all what you are asking for, but I picked up on your husbands love of whiskey and if you have the time I suggest making a trip (short cab ride) to Fells Point to Birds of a Feather. It is scotch bar that has around 100 single malts at a reasonable price. I don't remember their names but there are a bunch of bars in Fells Point that play live music.

The Cat's Eye Pub (on Thames St. in Fells Point) is a reliable place for live music (they have it every day of the year). No heavy metal or hard rock, either.

Bertha's (Broadway at Lancaster in Fells Point) usually has a blues band on Fridays.

Leadbetters and The Horse You Came In On should have live music (neither one serve food)

The Bicycle is a short cab ride away (or a moderate walk). It's on the south side of Fed Hill. On the way back, sample the bars & clubs around Cross St. Most bars cater to the frat crowd. Check out the 8x10 Club for affordable music.

Take a short cab ride to Canton- the neighborhood just after Fells Point then stroll to Fells for live music later.

Head for Pierponts on Aliceanna Street for a meal then stroll thru the Fells Point area for the other suggestions

Eat at Bicycle or Wine Market in Fells Point. then go to J Patrick's in Locust Point for some of the best traditional irish music in the mid-atlantic.

Pleiades meant Locust Point for the Wine Market, a short ways from Fed Hill toward Ft McHenry.
