election night in Oakland?

katydid510 Oct 22, 2008 08:36 PM

Any good ideas for a bar in Oakland that would be a good spot for watching election results and celebrating (or commiserating, as the case may be)? I may end up at Luka's, but they'll just have the regular TVs over the bar on, so it may be less than perfect.

Just saw on the East Bay Obama website that Kimball's Carnival and Cocina Poblano--both in Jack London Square--are hosting returns watching that night.

Ruth Lafler mentioned the Parkway Theater: If that's the case, i'd actually see if the Cerrito is doing the same deal. The Cerrito is a very nice venue.

Pizzaiolo on telegraph is hosting an election party and giving free beer to people who voted.
Venus on Shattuck has a reduced-price menu and is also hosting election results. Parkway (both oakland and el cerrito) have free admission (starting at 5pm) to watch election results, first come first serve. In past years I've gone to Cato's on Piedmont to watch the results and have enjoyed it. Good luck!

Just over the bridge in Alameda, Speisekammer is showing election results on a big screen by the bar. Great food and beer.
