Can anyone recommend a great inexpensive take out place on Atlantic between Hoyt and Henry? I see many Middle Eastern places. Can you recommend any of those? Many thanks.

I don't think they deliver but I'm a big fan of Nicky's Vietnamese sandwiches (Hanco's on Bergen is similar). I know Chowhounders like the ones in Chinatown better as being more authentic, but I actually like these better - maybe more westernized.

I've never tried Nicky's but Hanco's is fantastic and very highly regarded on the board.

Bedouin Tent is tasty middle eastern. Agree with the Waterfalls Cafe rec but its not that cheap really. You could go to Damascus and/or Sahadi's for stuff to take out-- we often stock up on their pastries, pita, hummos, etc on the weekends and it lasts us for days.

Is there a reason you want to stick with Atlantic? There are plenty of other options in the neighborhood on Smith St. or Court St for take out and delivery.

Thanks (everyone) for the suggestions. These all look good. And I LOVE Alehouse. (Especially the 2nd Ave. location, near where I used to live.) I only wanted to stay on Atlantic cause we live on it. But I definitely plan to check out the places on Court and Smith.

Nicky's does deliver and their sandwiches and pho are a great addition to the neighborhood. We like the roast chicken (not especially Middle Eastern, but very tasty), babaganoush (my favorite in the 'hood) and falafel from Waterfalls. The spinach pies are better and cheaper at Damascus Bakery.

Also try the chicken pies at Damascus (I'm eating one as we speak). And lately, they do these samosa-like pastries that are amazing. Great fresh falafel too and home made pita (get the triangle cut ones).

For very good, inexpensive Middle Eastern takeout, try Waterfalls Cafe (Atlantic b/w Henry and Clinton). Chip Shop (also Atlantic b/w Henry and Clinton) does takeout (and delivery) if you're in the mood for fish & chips. You can get burgers, salads, sandwiches, etc. to go from Waterfront Ale House (call ahead to order, then pick up from the bartender).
