  1. The Fat Lady in Oakland, near Jack London Square, does over the top Halloween decorating. Festive and not bad food either.

Wow, I just looked at the pics on their website. Anything in particular you like to order there?

The menu as you probably noticed is old school but tasty and well executed.I tend to stick with their daily specials that involve seafood and pasta as the specials seem to be more innovative, using seasonal ingredients.I have to say my favorite indulgence there that hits the spot is the french fried zucchini. It's julienned, golden brown, crispy outside, sweet succulent inside, sprinkled with grated parmesan heaven.Anyone clicking on "Special Events "on their website can see photos from a previous Halloween celebration.I think the fact that it was a former brothel makes for a fun/slightly naughty ambiance and a good place for some adult Halloween dinner/ partying.

Thanks Wolfe!Sometimes I think I'm the last person on earth to come into the new millennium as far as my computer skills.

    2. I think Hob Nob in Alameda is having some sort of themed party that night, drinks and food there are usually pretty good.

      1. Maybe:
        Spettro Restaurant
        3355 Lakeshore Avenue, Oakland, CA • 510-451-7738

I haven't been there in years, but somehow once met the owner while shopping at the Albany Safeway, and she was very fun and friendly. I remember the mussels being great and my small children loved the pizza. I also remember complimentary glasses of wine while we were waiting for a table. . .

Eileen good pick. I think this link goes directly to the halloween page.

        2. Not at dinnertime, but 4th Street in Berkeley is having a kid-centric Halloween event 12-6. I would imagine that the restaurants will be having some sort of special menus.

          1. We're way out in Sonoma County on the Russian River, but Halloween is shaping up super fun. In Monte Rio, the Pegasus Theatre is doing dramatizations of several of Edgar Allen Poe's short stories, and the gala (which includes wine and food, usually somehow related to the play) is Halloween night. "Funereal" dress is encouraged. Then the Village Inn, across the river, is staying open late and inviting everyone at the gala to stay in costume (players and audience, as well as anyone else) to come in late for complimentary appetizers and drink specials. I'm really looking forward to it!
