Dinner with a view

I would like to take my gf out for a birthday dinner and am ideally looking for a place with a nice view of the bay and/or bridges, and of course great food. Any suggetions or recommendations (both romantic and casual places)? Thanks!

  1. You could do far worse than check out Greens in the Fort Mason area. Had a wonderful lunch there last week with some dear friends from Whidbey Island.

Food is outstanding; the desserts are wonderful and there's a pretty nice wine list.

It's a sparse room, but nearly all of the walls have a continuous run of gridded windows with a nice exposure to look out at the GGB and the hills.

Let us know how you make out, wherever you may end up dining at.

    1. Newer choices include Epic Roasthouse and La Mar for me. Epic's view is bettter: sweeping views of the Bay Bridge and Treasure Island, quite nice especially if you can get there before dark, watch the sun set, and enjoy the night lights. La Mar I like when the sun's out because it gets so much light and has huge windows along most of the restaurant. However, the view is obscured by boats that are usually parked just outside. Both have great food, though I would say Epic is quite a bit more pricey.

      1. Cliff House has a Pacific Ocean view
        Scoma's has a Bay view

        Maybe Slanted Door
