Best absinthe cocktail in Manhattan?
I understand that, after a hundred year absence, absinthe has returned to New York City. I would like to try a glass. I don't want to spend $80 on a bottle at the liquor store; I'd prefer to spend $15-25 on the cocktail.
But I want it to be prepared properly. Just last month, I went to a hipster place in Queens where the bartender seemed a little flustered when I tried to order one. So if anyone could recommend a place where I can get a proper absinthe, prepared by expert bartenders, I'd love to hear from you.
Many thanks in advance. And while I'm on the topic, is there a site that covers cocktail/bar topics the way that Chowhound covers food? Just curious. Again, thanks!

The place to go is White Star. The bar stocks a number of absinthes, and for now, Obsello is the best of the lot.

Bar owner Sascha Petraske (of Milk and Honey) is a pro, and the fountain drip is done correctly, sans pyrotechnics.
