Cincinnati style chili in MSP

It's been a view years since I've been to Cinci and I miss skyline chili. We've made it a few times at home but am wondering if anybody out there knows a place in the twin cities that serves something similar. (I'm craving it so much right now, I'm just about ready to drive to the airport!)

    1. Hehe. Honestly, I've never seen it on a menu here in the Twin Cities. Never known it to be outside of Cincinnati either, but then again I have not looked for it.

      1. As a Cincinnati native, I'm sure I would have noticed it if it was on a menu. I've not seen it either.

The canned Skyline (or Gold Star) is fine, but it's no substitute. The frozen stuff's a little better.

      2. I have never seen a Cincinnati chili in MSP or anything close. The Loon Cafe in Minneapolis boasts 5 different chilis on their menu but nothing like Cincinnati chili.

I've had a decent Cincinnati chili outside Cincinnati at a Hard Times Cafe in Fairfax, VA. It was labeled as such so other parts of the country can be aware of the distinctive style.

        1. The only place I have seen Cincinnati Chili here is my K-12 lunchrooms. We had it at least once a month. Of course, I have no idea what real CC is like, but I'm willing to guess this wasn't authentic.
