Dining Out near Orlando with Children

  • 2

Ever since the birth of my daughter about six months ago, I've felt really stuck for good food out of the house. I'm tired of chains and take out, which we tend to stick to because we know they're generally equipped to handle children and we won't offend the great majority of diners if she starts to fuss.

We're looking for great places to eat within about a 30 or 40 minute drive of the northwest corner of Orange county that we can take the baby. Places where children would be welcome.

Things we love-New York style Chinese, New York pizza, Italian, Japanese, a great burger, Mexican-we'd love a great diner like the ones we used to frequent when we lived in New York/New Jersey. Things we tend to skip include Indian and Thai.

Any great suggestions?

  1. since you are close to mount dora i will throw in a few. Zellies PUB great burgers and wings with an outside patio for the kids. They have a huge sand volleyball court for the older kids. Very kid freindly not upscale and very casual= flipflops ant t-shirts
The Frosty mug also has a nice outdoor covered patio. It is in downtown mtdora and considerably upscale as far as food quality goes. They also have entertainment on the patio to keep the kids attention. There is also fiesta grande for mexican. This place is usually crowded and they have outdoor seating so noise isn't usually an issue there.

    1. I know you said you don't like chains but I have found the best luck with those places, especially since they are more accommodating for children and have things like high chairs, etc. My whole blog is dedicated on places to eat out with children so you can check it out at http://restaurantmom.blogspot.com. There are bunch of really good Mexican places around including Taquitos Jalisco which has two locations, one on S.R. 50 in Winter Garden.
