We had a late dinner on Friday night and it was wonderful. The new menu is out and the specials were interesting. Overall a great experience- but of course, we sat at the bar and Dwayne was working-seriously the best bartender in the city.

Had lunch there...buttermilk fried chicken with mashed potatoes and green beans.

The fried chicken was a fried chicken *breast*. Very tender, quite hot, with a good crispy coating, which needed salt IMO (which really enhanced it). The mashed potatoes were extremely rich and creamy, lukewarn. The green beans were rather undercooked. Overpriced for the size, but delicious undoubtedly.

Could you tell us a bit more about what you ate? Cotton is one my NH favourites and I'm eager to try the new menu so specifics on what to order/avoid would be great.

Cotton's been a very mixed bag for me too during recent visits. I do agree that the your best bet for service there is at the bar. The drinks themselves, though, leave much to be desired. I'll take a pass on the flavored vodka candy-tinis. In fact, I've only heard about ONE place in the Granite State that offers proper cocktails, but it's up in the White Mountains. Unfortunately, that's a bit of a drive.

I am so with you Abe, on the syrup-tinis that are so in vogue today. They are pretty yes, but to a purist, they are an abomination.

I am glad you had a good experience, my last couple times going were awful, service and food were way off the mark.

I find that very surprising. I have been there three times and have always had a good experience.
