Puerto Vallarta - machaca, chilaquiles, and fish tacos. Please reccommend.

We're going to PV for the first time this week for my sister's wedding. We will have limited meals to explore and want to be planned with our favorites.

Please give any ideas for machaca, chilaquiles, and fish tacos! And any other must trys!

I got take out from the one North of the river and I agree that they were very, very good.

if u want non-authentic, the fish and chips at joe jack were fantastic, like nothing I've had in a long time

id also recommend the martini that has alize in it, like a religious experience

You will be in the right place, very authentic cuisine if you avoid expensive tourist traps for these kinds of dishes. Mom and Pop places are all over. Please check out Maria Candelaria's for her housemade tamales, the best around. Tacos are great at Pepe's and at Pancho Takos.

Los Chilaquiles is the name of the new spot overlooking the malecon and Los Arcos amphitheater.

A new rooftop restaurant opposite the bandshell next to Starbucks has just opened to good reviews and a great view. 8 Tostados is the place (amongst many) for your fish tacos. They have restaurants near the sports field, the Marina and in Nuevo Vallarta.
