French Nougat

A few tears ago, the Trader Joe's in Reston sold French nougat at Christmas time. Unfortunately, they haven't sold it since. Does anyone know if the other Trader Joe's sell it. Or do you know of a place in the DC area (preferably NOVA) that sells French nougat?
Thanks

I am pretty sure I saw nougat at Le pain quotidien in Bethesda a few weeks ago.

I also got some fancy nougat that may have been French at Whole Foods once. I haven't seen it lately but perhaps it is worth looking there around Christmastime.

I remember the nougat. By all means ask the captain at your store, but it probably won't do much good. All purchasing by Trader Joe's (including, of course, all importing) is done centrally. If the people in Trader Joe's corporate headquarters in California who are in charge of purchasing don't decide to buy it, the warehouses won't have it, and the order writers in the individual stores will not be able to order it.

Cowgirl Creamery has individually wrapped artisan ones.

I don't know whether French nougat is a specific type. But you might want to try some Middle Eastern markets. Sizar's in Columbia (which is moving to Elkridge) sells a pistachio nougat that is spectacular. The label doesn't say where it was made, but it is a Fard brand. There may be a similar store near to you.

This is more about that nougat: http://howchow.blogspot.com/2008/07/d...

Rodman's has nougats, sometimes French, more often Spanish, but generally quite nice.
