Displaced Texan in the Pacific Northwest seeks high quality CFS. I'm visiting my mom in Granbury, can someone recommend a good CFS there or on the west side of Fort Worth?

Thanks!

It looks like Babe's has a location in Granbury
http://www.babeschicken.com/Babes-Chi... They are the best fried chicken and chicken fried steak in the area.

Thanks. I've passed this place and wondered about it. We'll check it out.

We went to Babe's and the CFS and everything else was wonderful. My 82 year-old mother said the mashed potatoes were the best she'd ever had. Next time I go, I will bring some cold beer with me, as they don't serve alcohol.

        Thanks!

Go to FREDS right outside of downtown off of 7th street......I believe it is on curriel...it is the best anywhere!

Sorry Freds is okay and a pretty good burger and a pretty good chicken fry but nowhere near Babes, just not in the same ballpark.

Yes, I was visiting my sister in Colleyville last week. They have a lake house at Granbury and we stopped for breakfast at Mary's on the way. It was an excellent country cookin' place!

It's in Strawn. Their CFS is "cowboy style" aka pan fried rather than deep fried. They use a relatively high quality cut of meat (sirloin?). Their gravy is made from scratch with pan drippings. I'd rate it as the best I've had to this point. Ahead of Babe's.
