City Limits Stamford
best dishes you have had from apps to dessert, why and what have you tried that is delicious. Have you been many times? I have a gift certificate so I want the best they have to order and I don't mena the most expensive just the best quality food and defintely want the best dessert,
They are very nice there especially Laura, she is great. Thanks very much.
Everything is good. Whatever strikes your fancy, feel confident it will be fresh and tasty.
For apps, I usually go withnthe middleeastern plate, which is a bit of a homage to Livanos Greek roots. The app portion of crabcake is sensational, too.
Entries -- their fishes are wonderful. Fresh, innovative, and ample. For comfort, veal meatloaf. And always check out their specials.
Deserts -- I order their baked on premises pastries. You'll find lotsa chocolate, too.
They have extensive specialty and foreign beers, nice wine list, with no bottles over 30, and oversized cocktails. A comfortable and spacious bar for preprandial if you're waiting for guests.
And take home one of their artisan breads or something sweet. All baked on site.
Though thought of by many as an upscale diner, I would opt for the entries rather than hamburgers or other sandwiches, which are good, but not as unique .
Also their holiday offerings are not to be missed ... especially Valentines Day.
and one other note. Of the three CL's,, the Stamford version is truly the only one geographically at the "city limits."
funny thing about this place is that it's hardly a "diner"........it's more of a restaurant disguised as a "diner"....sure the service isn't top notch....but it's never bad.....and the food is more of "restaurant quality" than 1/2 of the restaurants in the area.....just my opinion......and also, for a "diner", they have a great wine and beer list too.....
i enjoy the shrimp wrap with tzatziki sauce from time to time.....
Ate there for the first time the other day for breakfast. Had poached eggs over corned beef (hold the menu-included hollandaise -- ugh) that were excellent. Great corned beef-to-potato ratio. One thing that might be offputting to CBH purists is that they add a lot of chives to their hash. I liked it a lot, but it is different.
