Returning
Wife and I are returning to S.F. on 11/16 for 5 nights at the Hilton on Kearny St. Looks like a primo location for foodies!! Any "must eats" within walking distance? We prefer local places to eat.How about the hotel? Thanks for any help. You steered us right on Gary Danko.
Cortez is nearby, and very good [IMHO]....Haven't been there for a while, but I've always enjoyed Canteen, which is not far from the Hilton...
If Gary Danko is within your definition of walking distance, then I'd definitely recommend Piperade; we've had two wonderful meals there recently...it's a bit of a schlep, but a short cab ride...
If you haven't been, Boulevard is worth a try, as well.

I didn't do yours because I realized that they were all closer than those suggested by Rapini's.

KOKKARI! The BEST restaurant in town. Hands down. Not open on Sundays unfortunately. If you can't get a table sitting at the bar is nice and sometimes the bartender will even slip you an extra pour in the wine glass. I have lived here for 9 years and althoughthere are MANY great places in town, this is just the best. Elegant, warm, consistently great food and service. And no- I am not related to ANYONE there, unfortunately.
