THE RESTAURANT IS FANTASTIC! THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THEY SERVE HEAVY DUTY MEAT--LIKE VEAL CHOPS--YUCK---I AM A VEGETARIAN AND EVEN THOUGH THE VEGGIE DISHES ARE OUT OF THIS WORLD--I AM IN A QUANDRY AS TO WHETHER TO GO BACK THERE....THE FOOD IS THE BEST I HAVE TASTED--BETTER THAN ALL THE ISRAELI PLACES ON MAIN STREET IN KEW GARDEN HILLS..

my lunch there yesterday was terrible. i got the "lunch special." for 12 bucks it was one plate with a small salad, french fries, and FIVE tiny baby chicken pieces. i know that lunch specials are usually smaller than an entree size, but FIVE tiny pieces? it looked like a joke! the french fries were soggy, and tasted like the oil had not been changed for months. 12 bucks! unbelievable. ill never go back.

We ate there on Sunday and the food and the service was fine. Portions were very generous (we even took leftovers home), food tasty and the service was fine. It was fairly crowded - lots of families - so it was somewhat on the loud side.

we went to piyaz last sunday, the restaurant was full and the service was not so good!! we waited for are food 40 min and then i found hair on my plate... i have to tell that the food is over priced and you get only rice with the meat (i mean that you can't exchange it to french fries). thr prices on the menu are not same that you getting on the check!!!
i have to say that i had bad meal!!!!!!!!!!!

it's interesting that ont he same day we had such polar opposite experiences

i thought the food was totally not overpriced, prices everywhere have gone up, it costs 10 bucks to get a shwarma in a pita at grill point now, thats just the reality fo the economy

the girl iw as with had french fries as one of her sides, they didnt give her a hard time aboout it at all

I went to Piyaz on Thusday and I have to say the food and service was incredible. The staff is polite and attentive. The prices are reasonable and the portions are very generous. I do not think that it is a big deal to pay 4 dollars for fries, which are homemade and not frozen. Lets hope they do not raise the prices any time soon. I am planning a large party at home and will definatly use them for catering. My friend used Piyaz to cater a fund raiser at her house and she could not believe how amazing the food was. From the decorations to the portions.. Will let all of you know how it went.

went today, i thought it was pretty good, the service was maybe the best i've ever had at a restaurant since ive kept kosher, and the food was well seasoned and served in portions large enough that i brought homw more than half my meal

any questions, feel free to ask

Thanks Shoelace. How were the prices? Do they have lunch specials? And is it very spicy?

very much not spicy, and not salty, which stuck out to me, bc often new ny places are, for some reason

the prices were not cheap, but not expensive, i went with a friend, we each got a main, and we shared an appetizer, the bill including tax and a pretty egnerous tip came to 48

no lunch specials yet, but i commented that it might be a good idea, bc of the location, if many people suggest it, id guess they will,

i have to say i was kind of blown away by the service, i say this as someone who has been pushing patoug for the last year or so, bc of how amazing its service is, in patoug, as amazing as it is, sometimes it feels kind of too much, piyaz really had the perfect level of attentiveness without it making you feel like they were smothering you

ill definitely likely become a regular
