dinner near An Die Musik (409 N Charles)

coming up on Saturday to see an 8:00 show at An Die Musik and looking for good options within walking distance nearby. Price isn't a huge issue, but, like everyone, the cheaper the better. Places with prix fixe/pre-theater options also welcome.
Been to the Helmand which was great, but would like to try something new.

  1. Sotto Sopra is right next door, literally. You could have a couple plates at the bar there, and a good glass of wine.

Ixia is close by as well.

Walkable but farther is The Brewer's Art, with a wonderful selection of belgian-style beers to complement the good food.

Ban Thai is also close, but I haven't eaten there in months, so I can't comment on the food

Definitely go with "pleiades" recommendations. If possible, stretch your budget a BIT and go to Sotto Sopra and/or ixia. You won't be disappointed.

Sit at the bar at Ixia and order one of their fabulous drinks. At Sotto Sopra, the pizza with arugula is fantastic (if they still serve it).

At either of these places, you can econimize, have a fabulous dinner in a wonderful atmosphere, and not be taken to the bank. Hope you have a lovely evening at An Die Musik. One of the great places to visit. FoiGras.

thanks for the recommendations. Decided on Sotto Sopra, and it was excellent. We had the calamari, arugula salad, duck ravioli, and veal agnolotti. All were really really good.

YEAH--you made a great choice and am so glad that you have a delicious meal and favoralble experience.

I am planning on taking my hubby there for an upcoming weekend when they have "Opera Night.' (Something you may want to look into). On select Sunday evenings, the restaurant offers a 6-course, prix fixe meal for $57.00 per person, which includes opera singers and entertainment. I haven't experienced the event as yet, but will let you know how it turns out. FoiGras
