We tried River Market on Main Street for lunch the other day & it was very enjoyable. Bgut said it was one of his good standbys & I can see why......excellent selections on the menu & many of them....I had the Smoked Turkey & Brie w/ Arugula & honey mustard on a French Croissant super fresh & very delicious.....my wife ordered the home made Chicken salad wrapped in a Spinach Tortilla w/ Pesto macaroni salad she really enjoyed it.
We'll be back again for sure.

Tapas - I'm happy that you enjoyed the River Market. I eat there at least twice a week and two of my usuals are the river market salad (mixed greens, mandarin oranges, diced chicken, candied walnuts and blue cheese) or the Cobb salad with chicken. Everything is fresh and homemade. Other winners include the crab cakes and the fish tacos. I hope you return soon.

Where on Main St. is the River Market? I work downtown but haven't seen this place....do you know if they deliver? :)

Martini - It's a building or two over from the Java Joint off the corner of Main and Washington in the space formerly occupied by the likes of Jeffrey's Cafe, Pumpernickel's, Tiki Taco, etc. This is actually the first one to stick for a while. Definitely give it a try.

bgut, there was so many choices on the menu I wanted to try including the ones you mentioned above. I'm only a few minutes away so we'll surly be back again & again. It's downtown location & style reminded me of eating in Greenwich Village NYC. I think they have a winner for sure.

bgut1 do u know the hours of operation? I often go to the OCLibrary to hear their guest speakers and It sounds like a great place to go to after for a lite bite. Well try it for lunch on a Sat. when downtown TR is closed.

BTW......We were there for lunch today.......I had the Julienne Apple, Candied Walnut, Gorgonzola, Spinach salad w/ Raspberry Vinaigrette YUMMY!
.Also.....we were told by the owners starting in November they will be open for DINNER Wed- Saturday.

Happy you enjoyed it Tapas. I didn't make it there yersterday as I ate lunch at my other standby Bistro 44 instead. Good to hear about the dinner service.

Sorry Babs. I knew about the lunch only thing (until November as Tapas has posted) but was waiting to get you the hours anyway. Even though it may not work for now I hope you get a chance to give the place a try. Good Luck.

Fish tacos, seared tuna and many more at well under $10. If risotto cakes with wasabi sauce is available grab them. I think crabcakes temporarily off menu because price of good crabmeat has doubled and they won't substitute inferior imitations. Good for them!
