Chowest in/near downtown Redmond?

Gonna be staying in downtown Redmond this weekend, and will be in the market for a lunch, a couple of dinners, and possibly a breakfast. What are your favorite places?

Thanks for your help.

  1. I like Frankie's for a casual Italian dinner or lunch. Portions are huge, so I always shared a salad and entree with my dining partner. I also like Pomegrate Bistro for more upper-scale dining.

    1. Redmond has excellent Indian food. Try Udupi, Spice Route, or Mayuri.

Other places to look at are Tosoni (European continental) and Blue Ginger (Korean/Japanese). Some people like Szechwan Chef (not me). These places are actually on 148th (not downtown), but it's not that far away if you have a car.

Iyara (Thai) was pretty decent, and there's an interesting-looking Indian-Chinese restaurant next door too. These are actually near downtown Redmond.

A 10-15 minute cab ride will get you to downtown Kirkland, where breakfast at George's is always nice. Along with other gems like Cafe Juanita and Trellis.

      1. Thanks to both respondents. We had a nice dinner at Pomegranate, and a terrific one at Trellis.

So "spill" Steve. What did you find terrific at Trellis? (I live in Kirkland and think it's pretty darned good too!)

Everything we had was great: salumi appetizer plate, mushroom soup, roasted chicken, cassoulet, chocolate cake, and apple pie.
