Celebratory dinner for 6 (with in-laws)

Hi! We're looking for suggestions for a nice restaurant for 6 of us, in-laws included, which means it needs to be quiet enough to be able to have conversations and fancy enough (but not over the top). We usually head to the UES with them, which we're open to. Thinking of Park Ave Cafe Autumn, though it's a bit on the pricey side. Would love something a little less expensive, but same type of atmosphere. Any ideas!

Love Square Meal but just heard (today) that they are no longer BYOB and are not currently serving liquor due to a snafu with a regulatory agency....They aren't sure when they will be back to serving/allowing alcohol in the restaurant.

I would suggest The Orchard. Excellent food, appropriate atmosphere for the in laws and a workable price range.
