Private wine tasting in Paris

wittlejosh Oct 14, 2008 07:24 PM

Traveling to Paris with my mother and my other half next week, and I'm interested in arranging some sort of nice private wine tasting. I'm a professional food journalist and do know a little bit about wine; my companions are fans of wine but are basically amateurs.

Any suggestions for good places to try to arrange a nice experience?

I highly recommend O-Chateau. It's run by a very energetic, inventive, and charming young French man, Olivier Magny. I think that his rates are very reasonable and well worth it! He speaks several languages and gives wine tastings in English as comfortably as he would in French. He's hilarious but provides a very intelligent and well thought-out presentation. http://www.o-chateau.com/ Best of luck and enjoy Paris!!

I also attended a tasting with Olivier a couple of years ago. He is knowledgeable and down to earth. Everyone there had a great time.

He definitely knows his wines, and also his market. You can let him know your level of expertise and interest, and he will tailor your tasting for you.
