Frida on Eglington - Anyone tried it?
I ate at Frida last night. I found the food fresh and delicious however a little over priced. I ordered the chicken tostado's my wife had the chiles poblanos rellenos. We had an app of the Guacamole to start. The food was very authentic which is very hard to find in Toronto. Wasn't smothered in sauces and cheese like other mexican places in the city. Extremely flavorful. I would definitely go back.
(my meal isn't listed on the web but I dont think it was a special)

Ceviche was run of the mill, not particularly memorable. I tried the quail & mole poblano, and was quite pleased with the dish, good flavour and a pleasant heat to it. My wife had the lamb barbacoa, something we were not at all familiar with - interesting textures and very tasty as well. There was some live music, which was pleasant if perhaps a little loud at points. All in all very much a step up from the Mexican places on Bathurst, but likely a little too pricey to make it a regular place for us.
